Return to Running Program

Have you had a baby and want to get back to running without pain or leaking urine?

The Return to Running Program will help you recover after childbirth and get back to an active lifestyle. You can begin the program anytime following childbirth - as early as the first week postpartum.

What's included?

  • Initial assessment to determine your baseline and individual needs

  • Weekly sessions with emphasis on postpartum-specific exercise instruction

  • Detailed home exercise program complete with videos, pictures, and written instructions

  • Follow-up assessments to determine readiness to run

Program Phases

​

Phase I:

RECONNECT TO YOUR CORE

Diaphragmatic breathing

Pelvic floor and deep core strengthening basics

​

Phase II: 

PROGRESSIVE STRENGTHENING

Progressive core and hip strengthening

Progressive full body functional strengthening

Education on other forms of cardio prior to readiness to run

​

Phase III:

RUNNING PHASE

Introduction of running with gradual progression in time and intensity

Running analysis with education on proper form

Continued functional strengthening with focus on injury prevention
